Check In and Check Out:

Check in time is 2pm and no later than sunset. One of the staff will get you checked in to your rental.  Check out is 11am.

Cancellations: Because of our small size, a last-minute cancellation affects us significantly. To cancel a reservation, please call SJA prior to one week before your scheduled stay.  Last minute cancellations, regardless of the reason, could result in a charge to your credit card, which is required with your reservation. The credit card information will be kept on file for two days after your stay in case of damage.

What is provided?

Included in your stay are the following amenities:

Queen size bed, night stand, mirror, lamps, rug, extra bedding, small table/chairs, porch chairs, fans, heater, electric blanket (in season), coffee service, drinking water, towels, toilet and shower facilities.

Campfire or firepit to share, wood for purchase, Firestarter and lighter.


As a service to our guests, you may purchase the following:

Breakfast: Continental breakfast ($5 ea.) consists of Yogurt, Homemade Granola and fresh berries from our garden along with either a muffin or roll.

Full hot Breakfast ($10.00 ea.) which consists of your choice of either a(1) 3 egg omelet with either sausage or bacon and English muffin. (2) or a potato casserole that consists of fried potatoes, green peppers and onion, sausage and cheese . (3) Or 2 Waffles with your choice of sausage or bacon

All breakfasts come with your choice of Juice, Tomato, orange, pineapple, cranberry

Foil Dinners, ($10.00 each) – foil pouch includes chicken breast or beef (meat loaf), potatoes, onions and carrots seasoned. (Must be ordered ahead. You grill yourself!  Everything provided)

Pizza ($20 each) ingredients can be purchases as well and you can back on the outdoor pizza oven.

 Breakfasts are served between 7:00am and 9:00am unless another time is coordinated in advance. Your Dinner items can be picked up at the Trading Post when you are ready to cook them. 

S’mores ($5 for two) includes Graham Crackers, Chocolate and marshmallows and cooking utensils.

All payment for food is either in cash or credit card.

What You May Want to Bring:

Camera, cooler with ice, food, soft drinks/bottled water, games, clothing, overnight necessities, bug spray. 

What you May NOT Bring:

Firearms, fireworks, illicit drugs or any illegal substance.

*Alcohol Policy:

We do not restrict the consumption of alcohol. However, this property does not allow or tolerate drunkenness or inappropriate behavior.  If you cannot consume alcohol in an appropriate manner, you may be requested to leave the property.  If it is discovered that this has occurred, all alcohol will be confiscated, and your party will not be allowed back.

Nearest Town:

Plattsmouth is located approximately 3 miles to the east and 3 miles north. There you will find groceries, ice, batteries, gas stations, coffee house, post office, lots of churches, etc.  Ask Joy for any details.

What to Do in an Emergency:

If you find you need something from the Scatter Joy Acres staff, please call (402) 709-6114 prior to 10 pm if possible. In a weather emergency, there is a shelter on the south side of the main house.  If the weather radio predicts extreme weather, we will call your phone number on file to alert you.
